Summer in the Psalms

Category: Sermon Series

Faith forged under pressure — a practical sermon series through the songs of real people in real trouble

Most Psalms series lean soft and sentimental. This one doesn’t. The Psalms weren’t written in quiet studies by candlelight. They came out of caves, coups, exile, guilt, envy, and long seasons of waiting. Summer in the Psalms goes behind the songs to the situations that produced them, and asks the question your people are actually carrying into Monday morning: when life falls apart, how do God’s people respond?

Each message ties a psalm to its real biblical backstory: David fleeing his own son, hiding in a cave from Saul, faking madness in Gath. It follows the writer’s honest movement from complaint to trust and lands on practical application and a clear turn to Christ. The result is preaching that is honest about pain, grounded in the text, and full of grace.
