Encountering Jesus Through His “I Am” Declarations
In the Gospel of John, Jesus makes seven bold declarations that begin with two simple but powerful words: “I Am.” These statements are more than metaphors. They are divine claims. They echo the holy name God revealed to Moses at the burning bush — “I AM” (Exodus 3:14). With each declaration, Jesus is not only describing what He does — He is revealing who He is.
I Am the Resurrection and the Life is a multi-week journey through the seven “I Am” statements in John’s Gospel. Together, we will explore how these declarations unveil Christ’s identity, clarify His mission, and lead us to the cross and the empty tomb. Each statement shows us that Jesus is not merely a teacher offering insight — He is God in the flesh offering life.
This series culminates in the triumphant truth that defines Christianity: Jesus conquered sin and death and now offers resurrection life to all who believe.

The Heart of the Series
Each “I Am” statement builds toward the cross — where Jesus fully reveals the depth of His love — and toward the resurrection — where He demonstrates His power over sin and death.
This series invites us not simply to study statements, but to encounter a Savior.
He is not just bread — He feeds.
Not just light — He shines.
Not just a shepherd — He lays down His life.
Not just resurrection — He is life itself.
As we open Scripture together, our prayer is simple: that we would come face to face with the living Christ, deepen our faith, strengthen our hope, and experience the resurrection power He freely gives.
He is still the “I AM.”
And He is still speaking life today.
